A bit morbid perhaps, but this is the marker (shrine?) at the Buddy Holly crash site.

The metal guitar and 45 records are sort of the official marker, but visitors leave all kinds of personal items here: guitar picks, matchbooks, old glasses...

This is out in a cornfield, along a fence line, about a half mile from the road. Just a little clearing about 10 feet square. You could miss it in the 10 foot high corn. There is a hand-made sign nailed to a utility pole, unless someone steals it, as was the case in August 2008.
